Taraba L-PRES Promises Transparent Process for Livestock Project Contracts

The Taraba State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project, L-PRES, says it is confident qualified contractors will emerge to handle major livestock infrastructure projects across the state.

The State Project Coordinator, Hananiah Albert, gave the assurance during a bid opening ceremony in Jalingo. He was represented by the project's ICT and Communications Officer, Ezra Artimas.

The projects include the construction of seven solar-powered boreholes in grazing reserves, three water-harvesting facilities in pastoral communities, waste management systems, upgraded feed mills, rehabilitation of model poultry farms, and the construction of goat and sheep pens.

Albert said the projects, funded under the World Bank-supported L-PRES programme, are aimed at improving livestock productivity, strengthening value chains, increasing access to water, and supporting livestock farmers across the state.

He assured bidders that the procurement process would be conducted in line with established guidelines, with all submissions receiving equal consideration.

Also speaking, Director of the Livestock Development Commission, Buhari Dame, said all bidders would be given a fair opportunity throughout the process.

Some participants at the event commended the World Bank, Taraba L-PRES, and the state government for conducting what they described as an open and transparent bidding exercise.
