Abattoir Reconstruction: Niger Government Approves N100m

 Fulfilling his promise, The Niger State Gov., Abubakar Sanni Bello has approved N100m for the reconstruction of automated Minna Abattoir.

 

The State Commissioner of Livestock and Fishery, Alh Haruna Dukku, at the end of the State Executive


council meeting held in Minna, made this known.

 

He explained that the State Governor, Abubakar Sanni Bello, gave the approval and the council have approved the release of N100million out of the N512millions earmarked for the project.

 

The Commissioner explained further that the state government had in 2017 set up a committee to go round to inspect the condition of the various Abattoirs in the major cities and make recommendation.

 

"The report of the committee was that the Minna/Suleja Abattoirs have been categorized as grade A while that of kontagora, Bida, New Bussa were grade B and other were grade C."

 

"Based on the recommendation of the committee, the ministry approached the council for reconstruction pending when funds are available for others. " He explained

 

Dukku concluded the reconstruction would be done in phases, adding that funds for the remaining project would feature in the 2021 budget.
