The Entrepreneurship Development training, a pre-requisite for AGSMEIS Loan, took place at the SMEDAN Office complex, Lameco area, Ilobu, Osogbo, Osun State. With about a hundred crop and livestock farmers in attendance, the training was well facilitated by SMEDAN - a certified Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
On the last day of the training, Mr. Ogundeji Olugbenga Isaac, the South West Zonal Coordinator for SMEDAN, commenced his teaching by demanding a recap of the training so far from the participants. He was however satisfied with the feedback received from the farmers before taking the participants through the concluding part of the training.
While speaking with LivestockTrend.com, Mr. Olanipekun Joseph Adebayo, the Osun State coordinator for Fund for Agribusiness who is also a key organizer of the training, said he is greatly delighted with the response and turnout of Osun farmers. “This training has exposed us to hidden secrets of maximizing profits in our businesses. We have been taught record keeping, marketing, money management and so on in the simplest form.” He added.
Mr. Olanipekun encouraged other farmers who could not participate in the first batch of the training to anticipate the announcement of another batch which would be organized very soon.
Dr. Adebola Samuel, the State Manager for SMEDAN in Osogbo was also one of the facilitators during the training.
All duly registered participants were given the AGSMEIS Loan Application Form and were guided on the mode of application for the Loan. Participants also received certificates upon completion of the training.
