Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for an ultramodern livestock processing facility in Benin City, Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, said the project would create jobs, improve livestock value chains and attract more investment into the state. He also commended the Federal Government for establishing a regional cold storage facility and a model veterinary hospital in Edo.
Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, said the Federal Government remains committed to modernising livestock production, strengthening animal health systems, expanding feed production and encouraging greater private sector participation. He added that the new projects would improve vaccine storage, support disease control and increase productivity across Nigeria's livestock industry.
