FG Delivers 80,500 Livestock Vaccine Doses to Ekiti

Ekiti State has received 80,500 doses of livestock vaccines from the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development to help prevent and control transboundary animal diseases. The vaccines were supplied under the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support programme.

The vaccines include 50,000 doses for Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia, 30,000 doses for Newcastle disease and 500 doses for Foot-and-Mouth disease.

State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Ebenezer Boluwade, received the vaccines Thursday in Ado-Ekiti. He said the supply is part of efforts to strengthen animal health systems and improve livestock productivity.

Boluwade said disease surveillance and control remain important for food security and public health. Officials said the vaccines will be distributed through coordinated campaigns, while veterinary teams will ensure proper storage, handling and administration.
