The project is being implemented by the Kogi State Ministry of Livestock Development in collaboration with the National Coordinating Office of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project, L-PRES, Abuja, with support from the World Bank.

Speaking at the site handover, the Commissioner for Livestock Development, Dr. Olufemi Bolarin, said the project aligns with the state government’s plan to strengthen animal health services and improve livestock development.

He said the hospital, when completed, will provide veterinary clinical services, diagnostics, training and emergency response, serving Kogi State and neighbouring states.

Dr. Bolarin acknowledged the support of the Federal Government, the World Bank and the National L-PRES Office, noting that the project fits into the state’s livestock development programme.

He urged the contractors to adhere strictly to project specifications, quality standards, timelines and safety requirements.

The commissioner said the State Project Implementation Unit and the National L-PRES Office will monitor the project to ensure timely delivery.

He also called on the host community and stakeholders to cooperate for smooth execution of the project.
