Indimi Targets Fresh Investments to Revive Borno’s Agriculture and Livestock Sectors

Fresh optimism is building around Borno’s agriculture and livestock sectors as plans take shape to attract serious investment and unlock the state’s vast economic potential.

Business mogul and philanthropist, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, has pledged to actively woo both local and foreign investors to explore opportunities across Borno’s agriculture, livestock, mining and tourism landscape, noting that the state holds strong comparative advantages yet to be fully harnessed.

The commitment came in Maiduguri during a courtesy visit by Governor Babagana Zulum to Indimi’s Damboa Road residence, a visit marked by appreciation for the philanthropist’s ₦2 billion donation to the University of Maiduguri endowment fund. Discussions quickly shifted to strategies for transforming Borno’s rich natural resources into engines of growth and jobs.

Indimi revealed that he has already been engaging investors from Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the United States and Canada, many of whom have expressed interest in developing the state’s crop production, livestock value chain and mineral resources for industrial and export purposes.

He praised the improving security and calm in Maiduguri, describing the state capital as safe and welcoming, and commended the governor for creating an environment that gives investors confidence. According to him, the results will soon be visible as investors begin approaching the state government for approvals and partnerships.

Beyond agribusiness and mining, Indimi also announced plans to support investments in education and healthcare infrastructure, including Kashim Ibrahim University and the new Borno State Teaching Hospital along the Maiduguri–Kano Expressway, reinforcing his broader development agenda for the state.

Governor Zulum, in response, lauded Indimi’s sustained commitment to education and development, describing his support as transformative and critical to Borno’s long-term recovery and economic resurgence.
