Crucially, the government aims to activate direct import mechanisms designed to immediately curb illicit smuggling and ensure a steady availability of affordable meat in the domestic market. Minister Badr strongly affirmed the government’s dedication to developing Syria's vital livestock sector, recognizing the country's desperate need for these investments.
He explained that these ventures are part of an integrated national program intended to secure feed resources, provide essential production requirements, and ultimately strengthen national food security.
The Ministry is actively working to prepare the necessary infrastructure and provide a suitable investment environment. Minister Badr emphasized that the private sector is a key partner in launching practical steps that will both support overall livestock development and significantly raise local production levels.
