Genesis BBQ Group has announced that it has donated a total of 2,000 chickens this year through its ongoing “Chicken University Good Donation” initiative, reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility.

The company distributed 1,000 chickens each in January and February to assist underprivileged members of the local community. The total donation, valued at approximately 46 million won, aims to support those in need, particularly children and the elderly facing financial hardship.

As part of its outreach efforts, BBQ has been collaborating with the Yongin Group Home Association, the Korean Red Cross, and local welfare centers to ensure its contributions reach vulnerable populations.

A signature corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, the “Chicken University Good Donation” program is an integral part of BBQ’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy. It is facilitated through Chicken University, the company’s franchise training center in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province. Before franchisees open their stores, they undergo training at this facility, during which prepared chicken is donated to nearby welfare institutions.

Now in its 26th year, the program reflects BBQ’s dedication to community engagement and corporate social responsibility. A company representative emphasized that the initiative aligns with BBQ’s mission to foster a culture of coexistence and positive impact.

“For the past 26 years, we have been committed to expanding the Good Donation program as part of our efforts to make a meaningful difference in society,” the official stated. “Moving forward, we will continue to share the love and support we receive from our customers by strengthening our ESG initiatives and supporting those in need.”

This long-standing commitment underscores BBQ’s broader vision of leveraging its resources to contribute to social welfare, ensuring that its impact extends beyond business operations and into the heart of the community.
