NIAS RECORDS 93% SUCCESS IN RAS EXAMINATION


The Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS) has recorded a pass rate of 93% in its just concluded Registered Animal Science (RAS) examinations. 

The examination is conducted for graduates of Animal Science with at least five years post qualification experience seeking to become registered animal scientists recognized by the institute. Fresh graduates are registered as Graduate Animal Scientists (GAS).

The examination which held in six centers across the geopolitical zones in the country on the 13th of July, 2019 had one hundred candidates present of which 93 successfully passed as is stated in the results which can be downloaded on the institute’s website ‘nias.gov.ng.’

The registration of animal scientists by the institute began as early as 2009, two years after the National Assembly Act that created it was established.

This year’s RAS examination is the first of its kind. Prior to this, graduate animal scientists seeking to become Registered Animal Scientists had to attend the institute’s annual Mandatory Continuing Professional Examination (MCPE) for two consecutive years in five years to be eligible to apply.
