The plan of Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN) over stopping patronage for day-old chicks and feeds from OLAM, has triggered differences between its members and Association for the advancement of poultry farming (AAPF).
According to AAPF media release jointly signed by the group’s Chairman Malam Jibril Tafida and Secretary Dr. D.O Martin, AAPF condemned the threat by PAN against OLAM over unwarranted attack on a company that has made significant impact in the area of food security and job creation for Nigerian youths, amongst others.
Also from the press release, the professionals stated that PAN is part of the grand design destabilizing the multinational companies that are bringing Foreign Direct Investment in the agro-allied sector in general.
The professionals therefore described the act as “totally unacceptable, the sponsorship of fringe poultry associations to reverse the current successes recorded by Nigerian farmers through the support of multinational companies like OLAM.”
The group then declared “Any attempt to ridicule or undermine the beautiful legacies of the multinational corporation by hirelings of those who are unhappy about the progress of the Nigerian agro-allied industry through OLAM should be ignored by the general public”.
The AAPF called on stakeholders in the agro-allied industry to sustain the tempo of their “support for OLAM’s revolutionary moves in the sector, by ignoring fifth columnists working mischievously against the tide of progress”.
