Kaduna State Government inaugurates Livestock Regulatory Agency board

The Kaduna State Government has taken a step further in ensuring high livestock standards in the state and in the country at large in its inauguration of the Livestock Regulatory Agency board of the state.

The board is made up of 25 individuals and are tasked with the duty of regulating the standards of livestock production in the state.

Dr. Manzo Maigari, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Forestry, who spoke at the inauguration ceremony described the agency as a means of further supporting local farmers in Kaduna state. This will in turn increase the income of the hundreds of thousands of farmers who are dependent on the agricultural industry as a source of income.

He urged the agency board to ensure it works hard so as to attract local and foreign investors. He revealed that talks geared towards the exportation of goats from Nigeria to the Middle East had already begun.

Alhaji Balarabe Ibrahim-Jabo, the chairman of the board revealed that the establishment of the board took a lot of commitment and hardwork and stated that the board would strive to meet the government’s expectations
