The sensitization program held at the Ondo State Farmers Congress House, Igbatoro road, Akure, brought together leaders and representative of farmers from all local government in the State, representatives of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and the media.

While addressing the participants, Dr Omotoso re-emphasized his concern about the inability of farmers to get appropriate information necessary to ease farming practices most especially information about funding.

He said though Fund for Agribusiness is an individual initiative with support from no organization, he will continue to ensure that farmers know how to access the AGSMEIS funds without stress.

Mr. Johnson Olufala, the FCMB South West SME credit officer, informed the farmers of the authenticity of the AGSMEIS funding for agriculture. He said FCMB has processed and disbursed funds to two batches of farmers, November and December 2018 batches.

Mr. Olufala encouraged farmers to get trained by any of the CBN accredited Entrepreneurship Development Institutes (EDI) for a token and process their loan application so as to get funded on time.

He also affirmed that the interest rate is 5% per annum calculated in a simple interest format and that there is no extra charges required neither is there any collateral demanded.

While responding, Captain Monilaari Abayomi, a member of the Ondo State Farmers Congress, applauded the initiative and told Livestocktrend correspondent that the AGSMEIS funding is Farmers friendly and Ondo farmers will definitely embrace this opportunity.

All questions raised by farmers as regards the AGSMEIS funding were answered by the experts.

The Fund for Agribusiness Sensitization Team immediately proceeded to Ekiti and Osun States.
