BATN Foundation Supports 200 Jigawa Women With Poultry Inputs

Two hundred women in Jigawa State have received poultry production support from the BATN Foundation through its EMPOWER-Her Poultry Project.

The beneficiaries received Noiler birds, feed and medication after completing training on poultry production and enterprise management. The project was inaugurated in Dutse on September 4, 2026, in partnership with the Jigawa State Government and other development partners.

BATN Foundation Project Manager, Adetola Oniyelu, said the initiative was designed to help women establish sustainable poultry businesses, generate income and improve household food security.

He said the programme combines productive assets with practical skills to help beneficiaries manage poultry enterprises and strengthen their livelihoods.

Government officials at the event encouraged the beneficiaries to manage the poultry assets as businesses capable of providing long-term income.

The project is part of BATN Foundation’s efforts to support women’s participation in agriculture and the poultry value chain. The foundation says the intervention is expected to improve household incomes, food availability and the economic resilience of the participating women.
