The National Coordinator of Livestock, Sunusi Abubakar, said the development of the livestock service centre in Yobe was part of a national plan to improve livestock services across the country.
Abubakar said Nigeria currently has seven livestock service centres located in Jakusko-Nasari in Yobe, Kano, Bauchi, Oyo, Niger and Taraba states.
He also commended Hajiya Mairo Ahmed Amshi for supporting the establishment of the Yobe centre.
According to him, the centre will provide facilities for the National Coordination Office and participating states, strengthening livestock services in the region.
