Aboitiz Foods has acquired an aquaculture research and development facility in Singapore to strengthen its operations in the Asia-Pacific region.
The facility was purchased through Gold Coin Management Holdings from Adisseo Asia Pacific. It is located at the Marine Aquaculture Centre managed by the Singapore Food Agency on St John’s Island.
The site is equipped with recirculating aquaculture systems used for controlled trials, feed testing, and performance validation under monitored conditions.
Chief Executive Officer Tristan Aboitiz said the investment is aimed at strengthening the company’s research capacity and improving product development for customers.
The company said the facility will support studies to improve feed efficiency, fish health, and production outcomes. It will also contribute to its Project Eureka programme, which focuses on aquaculture innovation and data-driven research.
Aboitiz Foods said the expansion will support feed development for species such as tilapia, milkfish, pangasius, and seabass.
The acquisition follows the company’s earlier purchase of Diaslam Resources earlier this year, as it continues to grow its presence in aquaculture markets.
