The National Project Coordinator of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project, Dr. Sanusi Abubakar, disclosed this at the flag-off of the facility in Sunkani, Ardo-Kola Local Government Area.
He said the PPP framework, which is awaiting World Bank ratification, is intended to ensure sustainability and prevent the centre from becoming a white elephant project.
Dr. Abubakar said the centre is designed as a commercially driven hub to provide integrated services to livestock farmers, improve productivity, and strengthen resilience across the value chain.
Governor Agbu Kefas, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Jeji Williams, officially flagged off the construction.
The governor described the project as a strategic intervention to move livestock production from subsistence herding to a modern and commercial enterprise.
He said the initiative will boost food security, support economic growth, and position Taraba among leading livestock-producing states.
Earlier, the State L-PRES Project Coordinator, Mr. Hananiah Albert, listed facilities at the centre. They include holding and grazing areas, working chutes, loading ramps, weighbridges, a veterinary clinic, isolation pens, and a dipping vat.
Other facilities include artificial insemination stalls, vaccine storage units, feed and fodder sheds, a feed processing unit, water and electricity systems, waste management infrastructure, and all-weather access roads.
He said the integrated services are expected to generate revenue, create jobs, and improve animal health and productivity in the state.
