Livestock farmers in Ekiti State are receiving business training and financial support through a programme organised by the Development Bank of Nigeria. The initiative is aimed at strengthening agribusiness capacity and improving access to funding for farmers in the livestock sector.
The training brought together livestock farmers and agribusiness operators from the state. Participants were trained on business management, financial planning and strategies to improve productivity and profitability in livestock enterprises.
Organisers said the programme is designed to help farmers run their operations as viable businesses and improve their chances of accessing financial support. The training also focuses on strengthening the livestock value chain and supporting small and medium-scale enterprises in the sector.
Officials noted that improving farmers’ knowledge of finance and enterprise management would help them expand their businesses and contribute to agricultural development in the state. They added that the initiative is part of efforts to support livestock farmers with skills and funding opportunities.
