At the distribution event, 50 farmers received support items including birds, poultry feed and multivitamins. The General Manager of the Foundation, Oludare Odusanya, said the beneficiaries were carefully selected for the programme.

Odusanya, represented by Sadiq Waziri of Eco-lead Imperial Engineering and Global Resources Limited, said the items distributed included 200 ten-week-old Noiler birds, 200 bags of specially formulated poultry feed and 200 multivitamins. He said the support is aimed at promoting sustainable poultry farming and improving rural livelihoods.

He added that the programme is designed to empower women farmers and strengthen food production in the state. According to him, the foundation will continue to provide support and awareness programmes to ensure the sustainability of the project.

Odusanya said the foundation has supported agricultural development programmes since 2002 and has invested more than four billion naira in support of rural smallholder farmers. He added that over 1.3 million people have benefited from its programmes.

The Edo State Commissioner for Livestock Development, Ignatius Omorodion, commended the foundation and its partners for the initiative. Represented by the Director of Veterinary Services, Thomas Haruna, he said the ministry is working with partners including the World Bank and the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development on projects that will benefit farmers and persons with disabilities in the state.

Chairperson of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities in Edo State, Ann Ojugu, thanked the organisers and urged the beneficiaries to use the support to improve their livelihoods and income.
