The allocation was announced on 27 January 2026 in Yaoundé at the ministry’s annual conference of heads of central and devolved services, chaired by Minister Dr Taïga.
The two-day meeting reviewed sector performance in 2025, assessed service delivery and set priorities for 2026. Discussions focused on improving statistical data systems to support sector management, policy formulation and implementation.
Officials said the funds will be used to modernise training centres, strengthen incubation hubs and improve data collection for livestock, fisheries and aquaculture. Central and devolved services will coordinate implementation.
For 2026, priorities include increasing fish and milk production, expanding continuous training and promoting improved production techniques. Dr Taïga said Cameroon no longer imports poultry and pork.
Figures from the National Institute of Statistics show the sector accounted for 4.8 per cent of economic performance in 2025.
