Following a high-level meeting in Abuja with the Minister of Livestock Development, Dr. Idi Mukhtar Maiha, NAIC’s Managing Director and CEO, Hon. Yazid Shehu Danfulani, declared the corporation’s readiness to deploy innovative insurance solutions tailored to protect livestock farmers and boost their productivity.

“The livestock sector is vital to our economy and livelihoods,” Danfulani stated. “NAIC is ready to stand shoulder to shoulder with farmers, helping to shield them from risks and drive sustainable growth.”

The discussions marked a strategic turning point, as both parties explored ways to align NAIC’s services with national goals surrounding food security, rural empowerment, and agricultural resilience.

With Nigeria’s farmers increasingly vulnerable to climate change, disease outbreaks, and market shocks, Danfulani reaffirmed NAIC’s role as a safety net for the agricultural sector. The corporation is set to roll out livestock-specific insurance products, provide capacity-building programs for farmers, and adopt digital tools to streamline operations and outreach.

Minister Maiha welcomed the collaboration, noting that the Ministry is committed to engaging all key players to deliver tangible improvements across the livestock value chain.

This alliance between NAIC and the Ministry of Livestock Development is being hailed as a crucial pillar of President Tinubu’s broader agricultural reform strategy—one that aims to stimulate rural economies, empower local communities, and secure Nigeria’s food future.

Danfulani concluded by assuring the government of NAIC’s continued leadership in protecting agricultural investments and laying the foundation for a more resilient, prosperous future for Nigerian farmers.

“This partnership is more than symbolic,” he said. “It’s a bold step toward rebuilding confidence in agriculture—and delivering real hope to millions across the country.”
