Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Expands with 1,800-Acre Farmland Acquisition in Oyo State

Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Ltd. is making a major move to boost agricultural production with the acquisition of 1,800 acres of farmland in Maya, Ibarapa Local Government, Oyo State.

The land, purchased from UAC of Nigeria PLC, will support large-scale poultry and beef production, seed multiplication, feed manufacturing, and farmer training. This expansion aligns with the company’s vision to modernize agriculture, improve food security, and stimulate economic growth in the region.

Announcing the acquisition on March 4, 2025, Group Managing Director Dr. Ayoola Oduntan emphasized the company’s commitment to integrating advanced infrastructure for high-yield production. UAC of Nigeria PLC’s representative, Mr. Obinna Ede, underscored the importance of community engagement in agricultural projects.

The event brought together industry leaders, financial institutions, government officials, and traditional rulers, including the Baale of Maya, Baale Kareem Oyedotun, and the Jagun of Maya Land, Hon. Lateef Odediran, who welcomed the development, highlighting its potential to create employment opportunities.

This announcement follows Amo Farm’s recent commissioning of a state-of-the-art Noiler hatchery in Awe, Oyo State, capable of producing over 2.5 million day-old chicks monthly. The hatchery is set to provide high-quality Noiler chickens, a dual-purpose breed for meat and egg production, making poultry farming more accessible to smallholder farmers.

Managing Director Dr. Anand Burra affirmed that the facility will enhance farmers’ productivity and earnings, while Dr. Oduntan reiterated the importance of maintaining strict quality standards.
