Minister of Livestock Development Commends Amo Farm for Contribution to Nigeria’s Agricultural Growth

The Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, has commended Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited for its contributions to Nigeria’s livestock industry, particularly through the development of the Noiler chicken breed.

During his visit to the company’s breeder farms and hatcheries in Awe, Oyo State, he highlighted the Noiler’s role in enhancing food security and empowering rural communities, especially women.

The Minister emphasized the need to expand Noiler production through cooperative models and out-grower schemes, making animal-based protein more accessible and affordable nationwide.

Dr. Ayoola Oduntan, Group Managing Director of Amo Farm, praised the government for establishing the Ministry of Livestock Development, recognizing its potential to strengthen Nigeria’s food security.

He stressed the importance of private sector involvement in driving innovation and growth within the livestock industry. "The creation of the Ministry is a promising step toward securing Nigeria’s food future. At Amo Farm, we are dedicated to producing affordable, quality protein for Nigerians," he stated, expressing enthusiasm for future collaboration.

During the visit, the Minister observed the artificial insemination process used at Amo Farm to enhance fertilized egg production and actively participated in the procedure. He acknowledged the company’s advanced poultry reproduction techniques and reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote livestock development.

The tour also highlighted the importance of investment in agriculture to meet the nutritional needs of Nigeria’s growing population.

Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited remains a key player in strengthening Nigeria’s food system, producing one million day-old chicks weekly and advancing the Noiler breed to revolutionize rural poultry farming.

Through its subsidiary, natnudO Foods, the company continues to provide high-quality animal protein products, contributing to improved food security and nutrition across the country.
