Officials from Delhi and Nigeria have discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in agriculture, farmer welfare and food security.
Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra met Nigeria’s Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Dr Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, at the Delhi Secretariat on Monday.
The discussions focused on agricultural development, marketing of farm produce and the use of technology to improve food security.
Officials from Delhi’s Development Department briefed the Nigerian delegation on the agricultural sector and government programmes supporting farmers.
The Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board also explained the city’s mandi system and agricultural supply chains.
Both sides considered areas for further cooperation, including technology, farmer welfare, food security and improved agricultural markets.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for officials from both sides to exchange knowledge and discuss possible areas of continued collaboration in the agricultural sector.
