90 ABU Agricultural Students Gain Poultry, Feed-Making Skills

The National Agricultural Extension and Research Liaison Services, NAERLS, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has trained 90 agricultural students in poultry production and feed formulation.

The one-day programme was organised by the NAERLS Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Centre for members of the Nigerian Association of Agricultural Students, ABU Chapter.

Speaking at the opening, the Programme Leader of the Agricultural Economics Programme, Professor Abdulrahman Ali, said the training would give the students practical skills to pursue opportunities in agriculture.

He urged the participants to apply the knowledge gained, especially amid concerns over unemployment among graduates.

The Manager of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Centre, Engineer A. I. Abubakar, also encouraged the students to use the skills to improve their income and support their families.

Resource person, Malam Musa Bello, advised the participants to pay attention to the lessons and apply the knowledge to poultry production.

The NAAS ABU Chapter President, Comrade Usman Haruna, thanked NAERLS for the programme and called for more training opportunities for agricultural students.

The training focused on poultry production and feed formulation, with emphasis on skills that can support small-scale poultry businesses.
