The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) says it is introducing a new method to make poultry feed more affordable for farmers.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Olusola Babatunde Kehinde said the initiative aims to reduce dependence on expensive maize and soya beans. He added that students are being trained in alternative feed-production techniques to cut costs and support local entrepreneurship.
Prof. Kehinde also announced the results of the university’s 33rd convocation. Among 4,141 graduands, 104 earned First-Class degrees, 1,771 got Second-Class Upper, 1,896 Second-Class Lower, 285 Third-Class, and two Pass degrees. Osianu Joy from the Department of Food Science and Technology emerged as the overall best student with a CGPA of 4.85.
He noted that 69 students completed part-time programs and 41 earned the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. The Vice-Chancellor described the graduation as a milestone, marking the release of a new generation of skilled professionals and entrepreneurs ready to contribute to national development.
