The Sheep Husbandry Department (SHD) has suspended three employees, including a Stock Assistant and two Assistant Stockmen, due to their alleged connection to a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Authorities have also initiated an inquiry into the matter. The suspended individuals have been identified as Dinesh Kumar Sharma, Stock Assistant in Kathua, along with Dinesh Singh and Balvinder Singh, both serving as Assistant Stockmen in the same region.
An official order states that under Rule 33 of the MK Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, the In-Charge Joint Director (Farms) of the Sheep Husbandry Department in Jammu, has been designated as the Inquiry Officer for this case. He has been tasked with investigating the allegations and submitting his findings to the Directorate within ten days.
Additionally, Dr. Sahil Pangotra, In-Charge Deputy Director at the Government Sheep Breeding & Research Farm in Billawar, has been appointed as the Presenting Officer. His role will be to present the case before the Inquiry Officer as part of the official proceedings.
The department's decision underscores its commitment to maintaining accountability and discipline within its workforce. Further actions will be determined based on the findings of the inquiry.
