The South West chapter of the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN) has commended President Bola Tinubu for his bold decision to establish the Ministry of Livestock Development, a move that is expected to bring much-needed relief to the agricultural sector. According to Rev. Gideon Oluleye, Chairman of the association in the zone, the establishment of the ministry is a testament to the President's commitment to finding a lasting solution to the long-standing issues between farmers and herders.
The association has also welcomed the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Livestock Reform Implementation Committee, which it sees as a significant step towards addressing the lingering crisis in the agricultural sector. Oluleye expressed appreciation for the contributions of key stakeholders in the successful implementation of the reform, and praised the government's dedication to finding a comprehensive and sustainable solution to the issue.
The association has scheduled a stakeholders meeting for tomorrow in Ibadan, where its National President, Mr. Sunday Ezeobiora, will address members and other relevant stakeholders in the poultry farming sector on the ongoing challenges faced by poultry farmers in the country.
