Officials of the
World Poultry Congress announced on April 20, 2020 that the annual event was
postponed to August 8-12, 2021 in Paris due to the Corona virus pandemic
(COVID-19).
The French branch
of the World Poultry Association (WPSA) and the organizing committee said the
health and well-being of the conference participants are their topmost
priority.
“The
organizing and scientific committees have continued working hard on the
preparation of the conference,” the WPSA’s French branch said. “We are grateful
to all members of the scientific committee, for their contribution to set up a
rich scientific program. We hope that the already selected 50 invited speakers
will respond positively to join in 2021.
We are also grateful to the numerous
scientists who evaluated the abstracts. We will communicate the results with
their comments by the end of April 2020, thus permitting to modify acceptable
abstracts or amend accepted ones with new results.”
The WPSA will
extend the deadline for registration until December 31, 2020, so that the
authors can confirm their participation in the August 2021 conference. The
group will also reopen the site for submission of new abstracts, from September
1 to December 31. 2020.
All current
applications will remain valid until 2021. Scholarships for youth programs or
programs for young scientists will retain the scholarship. Regular updates will
take place at the event’s website through 2020.
