Owosibo Now New Provost of Fed. College of Animal Health

The Federal Government, through the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, has made it known that they have appointed Dr Adekoya Olatunde Owosibo as the Provost/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, in Oyo State.

 

According to the government release, The Appointment is for a single period of five years with effect from Friday, 21August, 2020. The government believes that agriculture is the way to diversify the economy and livestock and aquaculture play a significant role not only in food security, but also in meeting nutritional requirements, job creation and social security, which the college could boost.

 

Dr Owosibo has served in key strategic and leadership capacities, including but not limited to being a Head of Department, director of different offices, head of various units and chairman of many committees, in addition to functioning as a lecturer and supervisor to various research projects.

 

As a prolific leader and manager, he is a visionary leader with a proven track record of execution. Dr Owosibo, a registered animal scientist displayed his versatility as a leader by successfully heading the Computer Science Department of the college for five years till his current appointment.

 

Dr Owosibo acquired a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master’s degree (MSc) in Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition from the University of Ibadan in 1995 and 1998 respectively. He obtained a Ph.D in Animal Science with a specialisation in Monogastrics Animal Nutrition and Management from the same institution in 2007.  

 

He further went on to bag an MBA in Human Resources Management at Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso, in 2019. He is a member of several national and international professional bodies, including Animal Science Association of Nigeria (ASAN), Nigerian Institute of Animal Science and World Poultry Science Association.
